Welcome to the February Ball for the Calendar Girls

Welcome to the second round with the Calendar Girls!

Who are the Calendar Girls? We are a group of bloggers who want to have a place where friendships blossom, creativity abounds, and encouragement prevails! In keeping with that dream, this blog group has been created so we will have a place to interact and enjoy being fellow bloggers.

In this second month of the challenge, our own Ms. February, Kelly invited us to the Calendar Girls Ball.  Since February is the month of love, admiration and red hearts, we all were to create a card with the following expectations:

1—The card is to reflect our style—in color and style.  I love red and white cards, so that part was easy.  I also love a simple style and will have an embossed background and ribbon on the majority of my cards.
2—Show your true colors.  As I stated, I love red and white—enough said!
3—Shape up for the Ball.  We were to use shapes on the card and I got out one of my favorite SU punches and added various flowers with an added rhinestone brad in the center.

So, quite similar to the theme I used for the January creations and a reflection of the month of May that I am hosting, the card has flowers on it—stamped, embossed and punched out.  I love them and spring cannot come soon enough to bring them.

Please check out the blogs of all of the Calendar Girls—there are 10 of us, so it might take you a bit, but I am sure you will enjoy the creations for our first “Ball”!  All of the blogs are listed on my left sidebar.

I hope you enjoy looking at our cards!  Thanks for joining us!!!!!!!

Mystery Swap--Round 2

This card is for a Mystery Swap on SCS.  A group of us are doing a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess.  This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette.  These images were sent to us by Gael, who will swap the cards and send us our next image!   I can't wait to get the swap cards back to see how everyone else used the same image.  And then we get to do it all again!!!!

Dueling Darling Divas February Card---LOVE!

Here is my card for our Battle and we are in round #7!

What are the Dueling Darlings?  We are a group of friends that met on SCS, travel in each other's swaps and have taken a new twist on crafting to "duel"!

We, the Dueling Darling Divas, have one image/card kit to work with and the other half, the Dueling Darling Dazzlers, have a different image/card kit with the same theme! The object is to see what we came up with using this theme, what stamp was picked and how the divas/dazzlers created with it!

The theme this month is Love.  The hostess this month is Jamie, who sent us these great supplies and as usual, there were many to choose from.  So here are the details on the fun card I created:

Image—Inkadinkado Animal Hearts

Cardstock—SU Cherry Cobber, Whisper White and 2 sheets of the paper that Jamie sent—one red and one white one embossed with flowers

Ink—Memento Tuxedo Black

Accessories—Nesties-Small Labels, Copics, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Red Ribbon with white trim, Scalloped Heart Die Cuts, Heart Brads, Pearls, Oval Punches

Now please check out all of the Divas blogs--they are all on the left side bar--to see all of their cards.  Then, please check out the Dazzlers blogs to see what created with their card kit!  We are a big group of 14, so this might take awhile ~ and this is just a friendly joust ~ no winners, certainly no losers! Just a craftin', loveable group of friends taking on a monthly joust at card making! :)

Eddited to add--I forgot to add when I scheduled this to post, that the Diva's have a "guest designer" for this month--please be sure to check out Tami's blog.

I hope you enjoy looking at our creations!  Thanks for joining us!!!!!!

Kindness Comes from the Heart Card

This is the card that I made for one of the swaps for the shoebox swap that was held yesterday in South Milwaukee. Since the swap was a few days before Valentine's Day, I decided to go with a pink theme! There is some paper piercing in the upper right corner that you might not be able to see very well.

Wish Big Masculine Birthday Card

This is the card that I made for our monthly stamp club that met on Wednesday night--the theme was masculine birthday and as most stampers, I do struggle with those types. I have not made a gate fold in a long time and do like how it turned out.  I also put a strip of the DSP on the bottom edge of the inside of the card.

Winter Swap Card for Four Season Swap

And Today, since we are in the middle of a Blizzard--the Blizzard of the Decade they say--here is a winter card!  This card is for a swap on SCS hosted by Karly—her Four Seasons Swap and I made one for each! I tried something new for the image—I stamped the tree image once, then without re-inking, I stamped it again on the right and then a third time on the left.  So, I stamped off the image twice and I do like the look!
