SOTC September Swap--Making the Grade

This is a card that I made for our monthly SOTC—Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards-- Swap on SCS.  Jeanette is the host and the theme is Making the Grade-With School Supplies.  We are to use a school supply someplace on the card—check out the paper clip with the ribbon on it. I also used school patterned paper—love the design.

Calendar Girls--Teachers are Cool!

Welcome to another round with the Calendar Girls!

Who are the Calendar Girls? We are a group of bloggers who want to have a place where friendships blossom, creativity abounds, and encouragement prevails! In keeping with that dream, this blog group has been created so we will have a place to interact and enjoy being fellow bloggers.

This month hostess is our Miss September—Paola.  She gave us three options and this is the one I decided on:

*choice 2* EDUCATION:

Create a card with a special teacher in mind, and please remember to add at least one apple somewhere in your card. Teacher's {heart} apples!  I would also like YOU to gift your finished card to a teacher (past or present) who has been a true inspiration in your life. (or in your child/children life/lives.

This card reflects the traditional teacher—a schoolhouse and apples!  I chose this option as I was a teacher for 33+ years and loved every bit of it.  I have been retired for 2 years and appreciate all that teachers do.   This card will be given to my friend and peer when I was teaching—Pam.  She is a physical education teacher and was the gymnastics coach until last year.  She is an inspiration to me and many other staff members as well as every young lady she coached along with all of her students.

Mystery Swap--Round 6--Acrobat Hedgie

This card is for a Mystery Swap on SCS.  A group of us are doing a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same mystery image, sent to us by the hostess.  This swap was created by Forest Ranger—Jeanette.  These images were sent to us by Karly, who will swap the cards.  I get to host the next round and I have sent the new images to Karly.  I can't wait to get these swap cards back to see how everyone else used the same image.  And then we get to do it with the image that I selected for November!

Dueling Darling Divas September Card---School is Cool!

 Inside of my card:

Here is my card for round #14 of our very friendly duel.

Jamie—cricket3571--is our great hostess for the Divas for September and sent some awesome items for us to play with and create a wonderful card.  April is the hostess for the Dazzlers and they came up the theme—School is Cool!  Kids and teachers are back at school this month and since I was a teacher myself for 33+ years, I know School is Cool!  Jamie asked us to tell of a favorite memory of school--I do not have one specific, but I do remember being in marching band in high school and participating in many parades.  I loved marching, even when it was hot inside those heavy uniforms.  Our band director was outstanding and we did a different half time performance for every home football game--we made many shapes and formations; now it seems schools use the same performance for the entire fall season.
