June is Dairy Month!

Today is the last day of the month and I am here to welcome you to my Crafters of Faith card! The Crafters of Faith blogging group is a joyous blending of Christian friends ~ joined together to fellowship, share our faith, build friendships and craft together!

A week or so ago, our leader Kelly posted in the thread that since the hostess for June is no longer a part of the group, that she would come up with a theme, but she was a bit overwhelmed with life......................  So--I stepped up and said I could post a theme for us to use.  So her is our May challenge:

June is Dairy Month in Wisconsin. I remember when I was growing up there were dairy breakfasts at farms in our area and my 4-H club had a pie and ice cream social every June. Now--I am not sure that everyone has a dairy themed image. But--if you have something farm related--cow, chickens, ducks, barns, fields, etc. or dairy products related--ice cream, cheese, milk, eggs, cream puffs (the Wisconsin State Fair favorite!), or use your own imagination to honor the dairy farmer. Do you have some farm related DSP or an embossing folder? Chicken wire, barbed wire, farm animals, etc.--please be sure to use that.

I hope everyone enjoys creating a card or scrapbook page with a Dairy Farm Theme! Do you have a farm related story from your childhood to also share when you post your card? We would love to read about a favorite memory.

Have Fun--Enjoy the Challenge!

I have quite a few farm stamps as I did grow up on a farm in central Wisconsin.  This is a Whipper Snapper stamp I got last year and I really like it.  It sure is not a typical WSD, but it really reminds me of my childhood.  We had this exact Farmall M tractor and my dad was always wearing a cap when he worked on the farm--usually red!

I tried something new when making my card. I used a new ink and then dug out my SU pastels to add bit of color.  I tried markers and my blender pen with ink on a few trial runs, but it just did not look right.  I still would have liked the color a bit more muted--but here it is!

Here is the inside of my card:

Calendar Girls Dollar Stamps!

It is the 28th of the month, so I am here to welcome you to another round with the Calendar Girls!

Who are the Calendar Girls? We are a group of bloggers who want to have a place where friendships blossom, creativity abounds, and encouragement prevails! In keeping with that dream, this blog group has been created so we will have a place to interact and enjoy being fellow bloggers.  Debbie
is our hostess this month and this is what she wrote for us to follow:

As I was trying to come up with a June theme...I noticed the $1 stamps I always seem to pick up at Michaels and never use. So I decided the June theme will be Dollar Days! However, I didn't want anyone to have to go out and buy anything so...

I gathered up the UNUSED and UNOPENED $1 stamps I had and taped a sticky note to them and put them on the table. Then I asked my youngest to mark each stamp with a number starting with #1. She picked up the stamps at random and numbered them for me. So the order in which you replied to my email determines the stamp you get.

Sweet P responded first so she gets the stamp marked 1. April responded second so she gets the stamp marked 2. And so on down the list. (Jeanette, Terry, Linda, Kelly, Barb, Tami and Carol).

The requirements for the June theme are:
1. At least two layers.
2. You must use the $1 stamp you receive on the card. However since the $1 stamps are small you can use background stamps or other stamps to create a background, and sentiment stamps of your own on your card as well. But I would like the $1 stamp to be the focal point.
3. If you have any buttons, ribbons, or other embellishments that you bought for $1 or less, embellishments that were gifted to you, or recycled items, please use those products to embellish the card.

My dollar stamp had three parts--the sentiment and then a set of circles and one of dots.  I kind of went old-school (shhhhhh Jeanette!) and stamped the background with the two stamps-circles in Bravo Burgundy and the dots in More Mustard.  I then punched out the sentiment and use two additional punches to layer it.  Brads and ribbon from the stash, and the card is done!

Congratulations Jack Lukas

My godson Jack Lukas graduated from high school earlier this month and his party was last Saturday.  This is the card I made for him.  I am so excited that JL has chosen to attend UW-Whitewater this fall and he plans to play football for the Warhawks!  Both of his parents graduated from UW-W and I received my master's degree from the university.  The campus is about 30 miles away, so I am sure there will be many Saturday afternoons in the next few years spent watching the games and hopefully seeing JL as the QB!

Here is the inside of my card.

Dueling Darlings-Flip Flops & Sunshine

It is the 15thof the month and that means another Dueling Darlings challenge. Our hostesses for June are Carol for the Divas and Melina for the Dazzlers.
I loved all of the papers and embellishments that Carol sent--I wanted to use all of it!  She gave us so many options and she even gave us two images to chose to use.  She called this one the older one............  not sure what exactly she meant by that.  And---I am sure that when Jeanette comes back from Thailand, she will make a comment on that!

I think Ethel is so darn funny and I love the look on her face!  Carol sent us some sweet papers to use and some wonderful items to bling up the card.  The paper clip on the sentiment was handmade by Carol and we had a couple of choices of colors--what a cute idea!

Here is the inside of my card.

Unidentified Image Swap

This is the card for the 8th round an Unidentified Image swap on SCS.  It is a group of ladies who are a part of a bi-monthly swap where we all use the same image, sent to us by the hostess.  The unidentified part is that we are to not discuss the image at all until the day they are to be posted--today!   The images for this round were provided Paola.  She will swap the cards and include the next image that April, our next hostess, provides in our return envie.  And then we get to do it all again!!!!

The image the Paola sent is too darn cute.  This is one Whipper Snapper image that I do not have--hard to believe.............................  It will be a blast to see all of the other cards that are created.  If you check some of the other blogs listed on my sidebars, you may find some other swappers who have posted their creations too!

The Crafty Gals Honor Lela

It is the 5th of the month, so I am back with another challenge of the Crafty Gals! We are a group of bloggers who have monthly challenges, caring comments & fun chit chat on SCS—our favorite stamping site to visit.

This year our challenges are going to be a bit different. Each month, Melina will chose one of our group to highlight and our challenge is to CASE a card from her blog—or make a card that highlights some of her loves. This month the person to CASE is Lela!  Here is a link to her blog.

This is what Melina posted about Lela:  We are showing some Summer love to Lela this month! Lela is our GAL for June! Lela loves bright colors. I do believe orange might be one of her favorite colors to create with. She also likes using bird and butterflies in her creations. She does beautiful things with banners and embossing folders too! Look through her great blog, find something you love and get busy! We want to show Lela how much we love her!

This is the inside of my card:

I hope Lela likes my card and that she feels it reflects who she is.  And-I hope the rest of the Crafty Gals like it too!
