Tracie's Kit

It is getting to the end January 2017, and I am the recipient of the card kits this month.  I have received all of the kits and I trying to get them all done this month. I will be posting them into February, but most are done.  I have two months after "my" month to complete and post my cards, so I do have until the end of March, but I am going to try to get them down much, much sooner.  My goal for this card kit group this time around is to make two projects from every kit.  Every person who sends me a kit includes quite a few images--and many times there are a couple of different images included in each kit.  And, they senders are very generous in the papers and embellishments, so I can easily make two projects from each kit.   Wish me Luck on both counts!

This card and tag/bookmark are from kit #2, sent by Tracie.   Tracie sent a fun kit with 2 different images and a couple of matching sentiments.  She also included a bunch of great patterned papers and matching embellishments for me to use.  I hope I did OK and that Tracie likes my creations.  Thanks for a great kit Tracie--Thanks Bunches!!!!

Two kits down--10 to go!  This group runs the entire year of 2017 and we have someone to send to every month, until December.

Here is the inside of my card:

Here is the tag which can also be used as a bookmark:

Black, White and Silver Challenge

It is the 28th and that means a new group is posting their cards today.  It is a group that I organized on SCS along with a bit of inspiration and nudging from my friends Kelly and Jeanette.  The name of the group is Challenge Your Stash!

The premise is to create a card or something else that uses only items that are in your own stamp room--nothing new is to be purchased.  The hostess each month posts their challenge to the group by the 5th of the month and the card is due to be posted on the 28th.  The challenges can be a color challenge or a sketch challenge or a technique challenge or a combination.  Then, each person in the group--there are currently 15 of us--creates their card with their own image, their own papers, their own embellishments with their own supplies--using up items from their own stash!  The card can be for any occasion and each person is encouraged to send the card on its way to someone so it can be admired.  It is a way for us to step out of the box a bit and create something that follows a challenge--isn't that what a challenge is supposed to be.  And--no money is spent as all items are to be already available in each of own stamping spaces--Easy Peasy!

I posted the first challenge for our group and it was a color challenge--use Black, White and Silver on your card.  I made an anniversary card by using a Gina K stamp that I am not sure has ever been inked up.  I embossed the image with silver and layered over silver vellum.  The anniversary theme is carried over to the inside with Happy Anniversary silver ribbon.

Here is the inside of my card:

If you check some of the blogs on my sidebar, you may find others who have posted their cards today.  There may be more posted in the thread on SCS, so you might want to check out the link here.  We also have a keyword for the SCS Gallery--it is CYSJAN.  You might see many cards there is you do a search.

I hope you enjoyed my card and I know I am excited to check out what my other hoarders, I mean stash reducer have made!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Camp Color Challenge

This is the one of the two cards I made for the challenges for Camp Stamp-In-Oga, which was held yesterday.  It is always great time, with a stamp class in the morning where we make 5 cards.  Then, some of the stampers plan to stay for the rest of the day and stamp away until close to midnight.  There are raffles and prizes and great food.  AND, I get to spend the day with some of my SCS friends, LJ and Terry, who are from Wisconsin and best of all, Darlene, who came all the way from New Hampshire to get inky with us!  We have had a great couple of days, but she "has" to go home tomorrow!

This is for the color challenge. If you come back tomorrow, you will my card for the sketch challenge.  I am hoping one of the two is a winner!

Dream of Being

This is my card for January's Monthly Challenge for the Creative Card Chicks.  This group is a kind of mystery image swap, where we each get an image and additional items to complete the challenge each month.  Jeanette is the hostess this month and sent everyone this pensive image.  Jeanette noted that it looks as if she is reflecting on the year ahead and what she hopes to accomplish.  The two images Jeanette added are also very appropriate for the start of the New Year.  Jeanette also included some wonderful coffee patterned papers and some  embellishments for our card!

The Creative Card Chicks to post our cards between the 21st and 23rd of each month--so if you check the blogs on my sidebars today or in the next few days, you may see more of these wonderful creations!  Many of our members also post their card in our SCS thread--so you might find more there.  Carol is up for the February Challenge so please come back to see what image she has sent!

Dueling Darlings 2017!

It is January 15th of the month and that means we are starting a new year of Dueling Darlings challenges. For the January Challenge, Tami and Terry decided on the theme.  Terry is one of the Darlings and I am a part of the Diva team, which Tami is on!  We do have some new members of the DDD, so be sure to read all the way to the bottom of my post to get those details!

This theme this month was simple--just make a card with the components they sent.  They did both sent Valentine themed papers, so the card can be used for Valentine's Day next month.  Or, just a card of love............

I used three layers of the ribbons and twine that Tami sent.  That seems to be a "go to" design many times when I made my DDD card as I want to use all of the pretty ribbons that are included in the kit!

Here is the inside of my card:

I hope all of the Darlings enjoy my card this month. Please be sure to stop in to see what all of the Divas as well the Dazzlers have created this month.

We have some new members in 2017 as we grow to 18 ladies!  Terry S. and Heather have joined the Diva team--yes, we now have three Terry's in our group!  Debby is joining the Darlings.

There are a few members who do not have blogs:  Suzy and Terry S who both are on the Diva team, and Terry A, Paola and Debby who are Dazzlers.  You will be able to check out their creations in their SCS gallery, if you click on the link for their name.  All of the others should be found on my left sidebar.  I am sure you will enjoy all of the wonderful creations this month!

Blog Candy Winner

Good Morning!  And, Happy Friday the 13th!  Last week, on Monday, the 1st, I posted my annual "Year in Review"  I looked back and this is the 6th year I have posted my favorite cards--sometimes on 12/31 and other years on 1/1.

Yesterday, I did a random pick of the individuals who commented on my 2016 cards.  There were 8 ladies who commented on my year's worth of cards and I want to thank each of you for taking the time to look!  The blog candy winner is #4--BlueInks--Tami!  She wrote: Since I have been so behind this year, it is great to see all of your work in one post! These cards are adorable and you did a great job. Thanks, for sharing!  I will get your prize in the mail to you next week!

I had asked which card each person liked best and October for three votes.  I too think it is my favorite of the year--and here is Thoughtful Branches from Stampin' Up:

This was a card I made for the color challenge at Camp Stamp-in-Oga and it was also a winner there!  This wonderful stamping event is held three times a year, sponsored by my awesome demo Sarah and her friend Cheryl, along with many of their down lines.  The next camp is next week and I am so excited as my friend Darlene is coming all the way from New Hampshire to visit for a few days and get inky with all of us there.  LJ and Terry, who are more local in Wisconsin, are also attending. AND--I know we will have a fun time!

Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope Tami enjoys her prize!

We are Like a Really Small Gang!

It is time for another The Three Musketeers post. We are ready to showcase the card we all created with the image that Jeanette provided this month for Card #28!  All three of us sure have enjoyed the challenges every month for more than two years and hope that it continues for a few more!  I am up next for the February challenge and I have already decided and sent the images.  Be sure to come back to see what we create!

For our card this month, Jeanette said knew she had to get the stamp set as soon as she saw the sentiment.  Yes, I do think that it fits the three of us!  We are more than Friends.  We are like a Really Small Gang!   I really like this image and the sentiment does make me laugh out load.  It seems that many of the images we pick each month are some that makes us all smile!!!  I hope Jeanette and Kelly like my card and they too are smiling!

Here is the inside of my card:

Please check out the other Musketeer's cards.  Here is a link to Jeanette's blog along with Kelly's blog.  I am sure you will not be disappointed and will see a couple of great cards!  They may post today, or it may be upcoming, so be sure to check out their blog for their card!
